The workshop will include the history of the camera with samples of these cameras to be presented in the workshop from large format viewcameras to rangefinders, from twin lens reflex to slrs. An introduction will also be shared on the types of films to be used and where to get them at this digital age. Getting the right photograph not necessarily means getting the most expensive digital cameras of today but learning what tools to use and how to use them well is the key.

Hi Eugene,

The event in fact hopefully encourages more non-members. We would like to use this workshop to help spread the advocacy of film use. Kung ikaw, converted ka na...so hindi na kailangan...may sakit na ang tawag sa yo... Tongue

Quote
A workshop about Photography's Main Tool: The Camera -  Its origin and evolution, and the different types it has evolved into.

A discussion on what the Classic Camera was, before it had largely degenerated into another computer peripheral.

An in-depth course on how the Camera works, its parts, and its application.

A lot of Photography Courses now claim to be not equipment centred.  Celebrating the equipment seems to have become a "shameful" aspect now- but at the same time many of these courses rely on the fact that Photography has become easier to teach when the cameras used both provide do-it-all automation and instant gratification....Rangefinder Filipinas believe that the first step towards making meaningful and relevant photography is through mastery of the main tool.

And the emphasis is on the CLASSIC.  The celebration and use of the methods and techniques from simpler times.

Bing/Wam,

corrected the first post- it originally said LARGEFORMAT VIEWFINDER.  It now reads "Largeformat View Camera".
No such thing as a "largeformat viewfinder" is there? Smiley

All who reposted the above description should revise their materials.
