Hi, I wasn't really interested in DSLRs, and not really into photography. But when I first saw a rangefinder camera from a friend a few days ago, it has a certain charm on me. As I said, no camera yet. any recommendations where to buy? and what to buy? I have some models in mind base on what I read on the net. Thanks for any advice!

I would suggest that you go hunt on surplus shops, you can get them pretty cheap. And also you can find some things on hidalgo, I believe I saw a Petri 7s on hidalgo before, a Yashica Electro and a couple of cheap slrs. that's a starting point. you can get a zenit on a stall there 2nd stall on the right near the clothes shop before Island photo I remember him having a zenit slr for 1000 for the body.

I wouldn't recommend the one I'm selling right now because it's an olympus mju II 170. and that's automatic. you can check a camera by listening to its speed when in fires or does it fire at all. also check for parts if it has all of its parts. One time I got a camera back on a surplus shop with a missing pressure plate. so open the camera's back, check if the aperture works and bring a dead roll of film and see if it winds fine. anyway, it's hard to teach it when not in person why don't you go on RF's meets? or if you're near manila cityhall or ubelt we can meet, I could teach you a thing or two if i'm not busy

Thanks for the tips! I'm interested for rangefinder cameras. Those shops in Hidalgo can CLA an rf camera right? never been there. any recommended/trusted shop? my friend have a yashica 35 gsn and would like to go there to have it checked and also to look for rf camera to buy for myself.
I was thinking a yashica 35 or canonet or minolta 7s. any personal views on these models? Also lynx 5000? There are positive reviews on the net for these models but I was hoping that someone here can give their personal experience/opinions on the usage and availability here in Philippines or in Hidalgo.
Thanks in advance!

Try mo bumili ng camera from sellers talaga. Alam nila ang sinasabe nila. Madami sa FB at Sulit. Kay Dok try mo din i'm sure alam niya ang ginagamit at binebenta niya kesa sa Hidalgo ka pumunta.
